Overview
Purpose: This Knowledge Base article was written to give instructions on how to fix the "Not in session" message teachers can see when taking attendance. I have added a screen shot of this issue below.
Audience: Office Staff
Estimated time to complete: 2 minutes

Prerequisites
You will need to have clerical access for MyEdBC to change student demographic information.
Step-by-step Instructions
To allow attendance to be taken for this student and clear the message, follow the steps below.
Step 1:
- In Student top tab, find the student and click into their demographic details

Step 2:
- Scroll down to "Calendar" field and search for the Calendar using the magnifying glass
- For most schools, you will select "Standard" (Langley Fine Arts is the only school that also has an "Elementary" calendar as they are a K-12 school)
- SAVE

Troubleshooting
- If all students in the class say "Not in session", this usually requires additional troubleshooting. Please submit a service request to your MyEdBC team for investigation.
Additional Resources
- Contact information for further help.
Conclusion
Following the above steps will allow the teacher to take attendance on a single student showing as "Not in session".
