MyEdBC Next School Withdraw Error

Overview

Purpose: This Knowledge Base article was written to give instructions on how to fix the "Next school must be empty if Withdraw flag is set at EOYR" error message. I have added a screen shot of this error below.

Prerequisites

You will need to have clerical access for MyEdBC to change student demographic information.
 

Step-by-step Instructions

To clear this error message, follow the steps below.

Step 1:

  • Click into student demographics and scroll down to "Next School > Name" and "EOYR Transition" fields

Step 2:

The Next School > Name and EOYR Transition fields cannot both contain data, follow the below scenario that matches the student movement.

  • For a student to be Withdrawn over EOYR: Remove the Next School > Name using the red X and choose "Withdraw" in the EOYR Transition dropdown.
  • For a student to be Graduated over EOYR: Remove the Next School > Name using the red X and choose "Graduate" in the EOYR Transition dropdown.
  • For a student returning to your school in September: Clear any data in the EOYR Transition dropdown and select your school name in the Next School > Name field using the magnifying glass. 
  • For a student attending another BC school in September: Clear any data in the EOYR Transition dropdown and select the appropriate school name in the Next School > Name field using the magnifying glass.
