Setup and Accessing the School Attendance Mailbox

Overview

Purpose: Setup Outlook to access the school Attendance mailbox

Audience: Admin and office staff

Estimated time to complete: 15 minutes
 

Prerequisites

MS Outlook desktop app

Approval from Admin to access the Attendance Mailbox
 

Step-by-step Instructions

Step 1: In the Outlook app locate Groups on the toolbar

 

Step 2: Right click on Groups and then select Browse Groups

 

 

 

Step 3: In the Browse Groups box, search the attendance group by typing "<School Code> Attendance" (Example: NBE Attendance, TOP Attendance) hit Enter then click on the Join button.


 

Step 4: In the pop up window click on Send and then OK to confirm.  This will send an email request to the designated owners of the group, that will include IT and School Admin.  Once approved you will receive an email that you are a member of the group.

 

 

Step 5: Checking messages - Once approved you can check the mailbox by going to the Groups menu, click the dropdown arrow and select the Attendance mailbox name.

 

 

Step 6: In the preview window select the message and then you can read the transcribed message in the main window.  You can also double-click on the audio.mp3 file to play the recording.
