Introduction
Microsoft Teams allows users to access the files in a team’s channel directly from a user’s computer and allows real-time updates to any files that are being used and updated by multiple users at the same time.
Step-by-step Instructions
How to Map a Teams Channel to a Local Computer
Step 1: Open Microsoft Teams
- Open the Microsoft Teams app on your local computer and go to the desired channel.
Step 2: Go to Files Tab
- Go to the Files tab at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Click on Sync Button
- Click on the Sync button. (Screenshot below)

Once a user clicks on the Sync button, the channel will get mapped to the computer just like a network shared drive below the user’s personal OneDrive and will be labeled as “School District 35”.

Users will now be able to access all the files of the channel on their local desktop, and any changes to a document will be automatically saved/synced to any instances of the document.
